For the first time a congress of the International Association of Pedorthics (IVO) took place in the English- speaking part of Canada from 12 to 14 April 2018. The Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) was the host of the congress in Toronto, where the international community of pedorthics met for three days.

On October 14 and 15, 2022, the city of Cologne in Germany will be the place to present and discuss new results from science and from the daily practice of pedorthics. All scientists and professionals involved in the therapy of foot problems are cordially invited to contribute to the congress.For the first time, the trade fair and congress ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK will be held together with the congress of the International Association of Pedorthists (IVO).

On October 24 and 25, the Swiss Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association will host the congress of the International Pedorthic Association. The congress at the Forum Fribourg will also celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association.

IVO President Olav Toornend cordially invites everyone from the pedorthic industry to visit the ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK trade fair and the IVO Congress in Cologne on October 14-15, 2022:

No matter on which continent: the human foot has the same anatomy and biomechanics everywhere. But the cause of foot problems are interpreted quite differently and the therapeutic approaches are often different as well. The IVO Congress is an opportunity to learn about some of these approaches and discuss them with colleagues from other countries. Saturday, October 14, 2022 will be all about the biomechanics of the foot. There will be a translation service for the lectures in the congress for English, German and French. 

For the IVO Congress 2022 on October 14-15 in Cologne, the two journals "foot&shoe" and "Orthopädieschuhtechnik" together with the International Pedorthic Association (IVO) are launching a project with which they want to make pedorthists around the world more visible and bringing them together.

At the General Assembly on October 5, 2021, delegates of the International Pedorthic Association (IVO) elected Olav Toornend as the new president. He succeeds Serge Mathis, who has held the post since 2015.

After 22 years, the IVO World Congress will take place in Germany again. A highlight that will beckon many international visitors to Cologne.

 At this year's IVO Congress at the ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK trade fair, there will be a number of seminars in English, which will provide an opportunity to explore the congress topics in greater depth.

Fribourg in Switzerland will host the IVO Congress on October 24 and 25, 2024, organized by the Swiss Foot&Shoe Association in cooperation with the APO-Switzerland.
