IVO-Congress 2024: Interdisciplinarity and Innovation
On October 24 and 25, the Swiss Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association will host the congress of the International Pedorthic Association. The congress at the Forum Fribourg will also celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association.
The IVO Congress is held in a different country every three years. Following the IVO Congress 2022 in Cologne, which, like the ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK trade fair, was postponed from 2021 to 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the IVO Congress will return to its previous rhythm in 2024.The Fuss & Schuh Association applied to host the event in Switzerland in 2024 and was accepted.
The Foot & Shoe Association has been the non-profit organization for the shoemaking and orthopaedic shoemaking industry in Switzerland for 150 years. It is committed to the training of young professionals and protects the economic and professional interests of its members. It promotes cooperation with doctors, state and private insurance providers and other professional organizations and associations in Switzerland and abroad.
The IVO Congress 2024 will be organized in cooperation with the Swiss Association for Prostheses and Orthoses (APO).
The APO is the working group for prostheses and orthoses and is dedicated to the scientific study of the treatment and care of musculoskeletal problems. The APO holds its two-day annual conference in Fribourg every year. This year, the annual conference will be held in an expanded form as CONGRESS 2024.
Under the presidency of PD Dr. med. Martin Berli, the congress will focus on interdisciplinarity and innovation. The congress lectures will be simultaneously translated into English, German and French.
Fribourg is one of the larger cities in French-speaking Switzerland. Situated on both sides of the Saane in the Swiss Plateau, it is an important economic, administrative and educational center with a bilingual university on the cultural border between German- and French-speaking Switzerland. The Forum Fribourg exhibition and congress center, which opened in 1999, is located next to the Casino Barrière in the municipality of Granges-Paccot on the northern edge of the city.
